Frequently Asked Questions

What is Woodstock, Our Town?

We are a small group of residents who have formed a committee to address the way we as a town treat each other. We are concerned with the level of tension which has developed as we address the hard issues of a growing community. While politics is always a “tough business”- we feel we can and must develop better methods for resolving town issues.

Why do a survey?

The survey was a first step to gather information to identify community strengths and concerns. The questions and responses are being used to form the basis for constructive dialogue and future initiatives.

Are we affiliated with the town government or a political party?

We are not connected to the Town Board and do not speak for any political party. Our group represents a true cross-section of Woodstock. We see ourselves as interested in the “process” of communication and not specific issues. We have spoken with the Town Board members and appreciate their suggestions. We hope that we accurately reflect their concerns as well as ours.

What is planned for the future?

We hope to find effective ways to address the issues raised in the survey. Initially we plan a series of community dialogues. For this project to succeed it is important that we gather a broad spectrum of responses from you, our neighbors and friends. So, please spread the word – here is a chance for all of us to truly participate in the life of our town. We welcome and encourage your ideas and suggestions!
